Subject: Centenary opening date communication
On March, 8th, 2008, in Turin, land of our origins, with he help or our Lord and under Holy Mary’s blanket, we will open our Association Centenary.
The Confederal Council and Delegate, sr. Maritza Ortiz, together with honorary Delegates and Presidents, have chosen, to open the celebrations, the day in which a group of past-pupils, under the guide, the blessing and the eyes of Don Rinaldi, decided to give themselves a Statute, creating the Association. The first official meeting took place on March, the 19th 1908; that’s why, on 2009, we’ll close the celebrations in this day, more or less.
But, we all know, big things come from interior silence and strength. And, probably, those first past-pupils wouldn’t even imagine what they started. The knew they wanted to do it and didn’t oppose to that inspiration.
So, from different places we’ll come to Torino some days before the opening date, to prepare ourselves to this great event, through a guided tour of Piemonte’s salesian-mornesin places. You will receive, as soon as possible, the program of the celebrations that will be extended march 4-9, 2008.
Meanwhile, let’s go on preparing ourselves so that our Centenary won’t only be a commemoration and celebration, but also a possibility for ourselves to make memory and have back our vocation of men and women who, having met Salesian-Mornesin Charisma in our lives, want to give it to the world with joy. With a privileged look to the poor and the castaways, especially if young; open in sharing with who wants to make with us a choice based upon values.
I commit all of you to the Holy Mary, whose feast we’re going to celebrate; each one with his/her needings, desires, troubles. May every request find appropriate answer in Her motherly Heart.
In the name of sr. Maritza Ortiz and all the Confederal Council, with the usual affection,
Carolina Fiorica
Confederal President
