Rome, 24 february 2007
Prot. 7

To the Federal Presidents and Delegates
To Mother Antonia Colombo,
FMA General Superior
To Sr. Maria de los Angeles Contreras,
Salesian Family General Councillor
To all the Inspectors and Superiors of Visitatory

My all dear,
I communicate to all of you the Association Centenary topic, with joy and a heart grateful to our Lord and to the Holy Mary.

Hands in the world, roots in the heart
Confederal Council decided for this topic after a long and deep reflection on our Association substance, on our steps during this first century of life and on the new ways taken in these last few years.
Hands that penetrate in the world; hands that hold lonely, hungry, violated and unprotected children; hands that dig deep in the arid and bright earth of the most poor Countries of the planet, to make the water stream for all who still don’t have access to drinking water; hands that build houses to give a roof for everyone and schools to give back dignity to each human being; hands that ake a chain of solidarity for defenging human rights; hands that don’t avoid to soil or contaminate, that can bear scratches and cure other people’s ones.
Hands that are driver by a heart deep-rooted in te Salesian-mornesin spirituality; a heart that can love the others with a free, strong and encouraging relation style.
A heart that chose simplicity as its life style, in a world founded on the law of gain and on the will to appear; that can counterpose the simplicity of the lilies in the fields to the complicated logic of deceit and overwhelming; a heart that can bring sane happiness in a dark, sad and hopeless world, giving fortitude even in the middle of apocalyptic scenarios; a heart that love its work and commit seriously to transform it in purification; a heart that can take care of the ones who live close to it because it feels this responsibility; a heart that looks for holiness in its existance expressions, looking in the world with amazed and chil-like innocent eyes; a heart that finds, through union with God and in comparison with the Word, its life sense; that embodies, in this way of being, our Father’s love.
So, not a title, not just a topic: program lines that will lead the preparatory path to the great event and that will introduce us, through the IV World elective Assembly, to the second century of life of our Association.
May Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello accompany this strong moment of Associative life, transforming it in a time of Grace.
In the name of Confederal Council and Delegate,

Carolina Fiorica
Confederal President
