THANKS TO THE LIFE

“And we are able to grow old”.
Nicola is an original person. With his eighty years, worn with a certain ease, has always the quick tongue and the inevitable shopping bag, not exactly light. That “And we are able to grow old”…seems to me a nice expression to smile with some friends.
But, today, after some days, the same words, listened with the experience of the years, repeated to me a great truth: the gift of the life renews every day, and every day it proposes itself with new accents and signs.
The vital breath puts together all the things that constitute our being and it stays always, also in a sick body, signed from the disability since it was born, or in a mind that is not able to control itself.
If we think more to the value of a moment of the life that is given to us, both in the “explosive” years of the youth, and in the constructive and mature years of the following ages, also in difficult situations, we have to wonder everyday about what, in our life, we could carry out in ourselves and outside our personal world. With the thought, the creativity, the relationships, the work.
Supported by this vital intention that unites us and manages our expressed potentialities and abilities, we walk the single way, because of it is personal. We bring our background of qualities and faults that we leave along the way and that others collect, the positive and the negative.
We know to arrive to a point of the life where there are, alternating, two attitudes. A deep regret for what we leaved: love, work, interests, habits, and suddenly a following dissatisfaction and sadness; or a serenity that means thank to the life, in spite of the difficulties, the recognition that what we received is only a gift of God who trusts us. He gave us talents “to trade” until the last moment of the life. A life that will continue beyond the limits of the human, in eternity where all the people will be “one” in Christ.
With this hopeful thought, that becomes sure in the Resurrection of Jesus, I wish you the gift a Easter, full of Life.
