Which part are you in?
My all dear,
even in this holiday period, when we try to relax our tired bodies and minds, we see alla round us (near or far from us, but always ‘live’, thankx to the mass media) expression of a mankind not so happy, not so free, maybe not so…human.
Everything becomes dirty from money and power: public health, sports, politics…And we ask ourselves “Who will save us from that?”. And sometimes we think that this is unbelievable and we feel without power. An then, maybe, we start praying.
But we cannot stop at this.
A look around to what doesn’t make us think and act in consequence would be a useless action. It would be just like spending our time watching a soap-opera or a reality show. And these new kinds of show (often of bad taste)are maybe designed for this: to make us stop thinking and make confusion between reality and fiction. And, in front of a fiction, you don’t have to make a choice: you can become sad, angry or disgusted. But after that you ‘switch off the “breaker” and go on with your life.
So the reality - the ‘real’ one – goes on running through different and contrasting paths, from the ones of true solidarity and commitment for someone, to compromise, illegality and prevarication for someone else who can, unfortunately, mask their crimes with a ‘face’ of good-thinking and love for the Neighbour. The ‘unsuspicious’, the ones who say that they’re ‘close to God’ and cover with alms the Charity Works, especially if they can do that in front of cameras and very important witnesses. And then we are told of crimes that they’ve surely done…
Do they want to ‘pay’ something ‘before’, in front of God? Do they want to make themselves an ‘unsuspicious’ mask? Or do they sincerely believe that this is the right behavior? Let God be the last judge for them.
And talking about us, what do we do in front of all this?
We accept the perverted power letting it go on like this? Or we become witnesses against it, refusing every compromise, being based on a spirit freedom that comes to us from the Christ of the Beatitudes?
So, which part are we in?
See you in your next meeting!
Your sincerely,
Carolina
