President Letter - March / April 2011 |
Wake up!
I don’t know what will happen before this letter arrives to you, but in this moment I can’t avoid to the big tragedy that hit the Japanese people.
A sense of dismay overcomes all of us, also the people who is far thousand miles from there. And what is there in the soul of the survivors, of all the people that lost relatives , friends, the house, the job, all, all, all!?
It is not simple to keep the peace in front of these scenes: neither for us that are so far. Also we that didn’t live these shocks are trembling.
Not physically. It is a existential consciousness of precariousness; it is like we feel our fragility in front of such power of the nature. And a strong sensation of impotence takes us and risks to spread the negativity projecting in all the thing we do a numb of pessimism that, very easily, we consider realism.
But we mustn’t feel these sensations. The life continues, the sun rises every morning, the children close us already smile to us, the nature is born every day also if it is raped from interventions of the men and polluted and assaulted from the nuclear radiations that are the product of our “magnificence”.
This last catastrophe will serve us to let everyone and our governors consider it?
Because of we can nothing about the strengths of the nature, about the important choices that involve the human being and the same nature, the responsibility are biggest.
Power and profit seem the only laws that support our planet.
But we do something to change the things? We are adapted to compromise, we look to the weakening of the important values feeling surprised from this. And then?
Where are we? It is not true that we are to the part of the life if we don’t speak about the violations of the fundamental rights of the human being. These are only slogans if we don’t succeed to risk personally and we continue to assist in the chair to the disasters, provoked, not first from the nature, but from a certain media power that seems weaken the consciousnesses.
And the wars close home?! Who now is agreed with the war? But where we are when the weapons were sold by the great Democracies of the Planet to States that surely didn’t use them for the collection!!!
Wake up! Christ rises again in spite all and He calls us to not sleep about this desolation.
Wake up! If He rose again our Faith and our Hope are not vain. And, today more than ever, we need the hope.
Yours Carolina |
